EDUCATION

As a foundational responsibility of the clubhouse community, Alliance House helps its members achieve their educational goals. Both other members and staff provide educational support for those pursuing a high school diploma, GED, trade certification or a college degree.  Mentoring, tutoring and scholarship opportunities are available for all members with higher education goals.
In partnership with Horizonte Instruction and Training Center, Alliance House supports members in completing their high school diploma. Members also have the option to earn their GED through community programs.

For members who wish to complete college courses or attend a trade school, Alliance House provides assistance in finding programs, registering for classes and offers continued support in schooling and testing needs. By assisting members to take advantage of educational opportunities and achieve their educational goals, Alliance House promotes recovery and assists members in community integration.

EMPLOYMENT

Providing a broad range of employment opportunities is an essential priority of Clubhouse. By participating in the work-ordered day, members have the opportunity to strengthen vocational and social skills, which are transferable to future employment. Alliance House offers three pathways towards employment: Transitional Employment, Supported Employment and Independent Employment.

Transitional Employment (TE) is a unique and foundational part of Clubhouse. TE provides access to real jobs in the larger community, even to members with significant vocational challenges. By forming partnerships with community partners, Alliance House has developed TE positions as an entrance back into the workforce. These positions are not designed to be long term career employment, but rather as an opportunity for vocational rehabilitation. Placement managers help train members and offer continued support throughout the 6 to 9 month placement.

Supported Employment and Independent Employment afford members the opportunity to enter permanent employment with a level of support that is catered to each member’s needs.

HOUSING

Alliance House is committed to helping our members secure housing, whether in the larger community or through our limited housing opportunities.  While Alliance House is not a housing program, safe and deeply affordable housing options are available to active members, particularly those who are homeless.
